A story-driven tactical RPG

It's a sick world. They tell you to bear the burdens and be grateful. Don't ask questions. Lead your soldiers. Survive the battles. Survive long enough, and you might learn the truth..

Hey, I'm Kevin.

I'm a solo developer with a love of drawing and a background in engineering. Sol Elegy is my love letter to my favorite genre in gaming: the tactical RPG.

Inspiration & Gameplay

Sol Elegy began with a simple idea: I wanted Fire Emblem with deeper character progression and customization, plus interesting loot. I'm bringing elements I love from XCOM, Divinity: Original Sin, and Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children—a lesser-known game that may be my favorite in the genre—into Fire Emblem's top-down tactical structure.

Character Building & Progression

So much of the fun of an RPG, for me, is crafting interesting builds. Standouts that inspire me include Path of Exile, Divinity: Original Sin, the Lumina system in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and the mastery system in Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children. I hope to provide plenty of freedom to create builds for many different playstyles, including customization for both your heroes and the troop formations you bring into each chapter.

Loot

To me, there is nothing in gaming quite like getting an amazing drop. I have spent thousands of hours across World of Warcraft, RuneScape, Path of Exile, Dofus, Titan Quest, Diablo, and Borderlands, always chasing that next incredible item. I want to bring some of that feeling into Sol Elegy—without making farming or grinding necessary.

Story

I find the histories and lore of Mesoamerican and Andean civilizations—including the Aztec, Maya, and Inca—alongside Spanish Renaissance history to be rich and fascinating, yet relatively unexplored in games. I love stories that drop you into a mysterious world, like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, NieR: Automata, and Horizon Zero Dawn, and gradually reveal what that world is really about.

Say hello.

Whether you're interested in Sol Elegy, want to talk about tactical RPGs, or simply want to follow the journey, I'd be glad to hear from you.
